You need a scorecard to track political endorsements

This political season has been unusual. The simple solution is to expect the unexpected such as Democrats endorsing Republicans and conservatives endorsing liberals.

Ok. Let me see if I have this straight.

Ann Coulter is endorsing Hillary Clinton because she cannot support McCain.

(CNN) — In the latest sign that a conservative backlash is starting to build against John McCain, conservative commentator Ann Coulter said Thursday she is prepared to vote for Hillary Clinton over the Arizona senator in a general election match up.

Rush Limbaugh supported Clinton in Texas because he would like to see Democrats “bloody each other.”

Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh led a campaign to have his Republican followers in Texas cross party lines and vote for Sen. Hillary Clinton in the state’s open primary last Tuesday. Why? Because Limbaugh thinks Republicans can defeat Clinton in a general election. Plus, watching Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama bloody each other in a nomination fight is pure sport for Limbaugh conservatives.

Hillary Clinton is supporting John McCain because he meets some imaginary “threshold” that she established which has something to do with proximity to a President. Apparently, she was there in the White House when the phone rang at 3:00 am.

“I believe that I’ve done that. Certainly, Sen. McCain has done that and you’ll have to ask Sen. Obama with respect to his candidacy,” she said.

Calling McCain, the presumptive GOP nominee a good friend and a “distinguished man with a great history of service to our country,” Clinton said, “Both of us will be on that stage having crossed that threshold. That is a critical criterion for the next Democratic nominee to deal with.”

This is a campaign about change. Barack Obama’s brand of change. All of these strange movements and endorsements are directed at Obama to slow down his phenomenal political momentum. I suggest they all get used to it. Barack Obama will be elected the 44th President of the United States. Enough with the “business as usual” style of politics. Reading on Walden Bookstore.
